A Career Built in the Field

For more than 14 years, Anthony has worked at the intersection of exploration, natural history, conservation, storytelling and field operations - directing and leading complex international projects and field programmes in some of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth.

His experience spans six continents, from Antarctica and the High Arctic to the tropics, working with some of the world’s leading organisations across natural history, science and conservation.

Along the way, his role has evolved from working primarily in the field to shaping the ideas, stories, teams and operations that make even the most ambitious projects possible.

Anthony is often involved from the very beginning - understanding what a project is trying to achieve, developing the approach, testing what is possible and working out what it will take to deliver it. As a Natural History Producer & Director and Expedition Director, he has worked across the full lifecycle of projects - from developing the initial idea and shaping the story through to designing field programmes, building teams, developing partnerships, securing specialist access, directing operations in the field and delivering world-class outcomes.

The environments may be extraordinary, but the challenge is often the same: take an ambitious idea and find a way to make it work.

The Natural World

The natural world has been the constant throughout Anthony's career.

It has shaped the places he has worked, the people he has worked alongside and the projects he has chosen to pursue - from natural history film and expeditions to wildlife, animal behaviour and conservation.

His work has taken him alongside scientists, conservationists, filmmakers and specialist teams in some extraordinary environments, developing a deep understanding of both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with working in them.

That passion extends far beyond his professional work. Anthony has maintained a personal commitment to conservation, rewilding and wildlife protection in the UK, contributing hands-on to habitat restoration, ecological monitoring and species conservation projects.

Leading Complex Projects

Anthony's career has been built around projects where the ambition is clear, but the route to achieving it is not.

Working in remote environments requires world-class planning, sound judgement and the ability to make decisions as circumstances change. He has led multidisciplinary teams and managed field programmes with budgets of up to £1.5 million, taking responsibility for the people, resources, logistics and risk management required to deliver complex operations.

A major part of his work involves bringing together people with very different expertise - from filmmakers, conservationists and scientists to pilots, vessel crews and local specialists — alongside the high-value assets and specialist equipment required to deliver the ambition.

Planning is rigorous, but never treated as fixed. Conditions change, opportunities emerge and assumptions are tested. Anthony's approach is to understand the ambition, anticipate what can be anticipated and remain prepared to change course when circumstances demand it.

He is comfortable moving between the strategic and the practical - understanding what needs to be achieved, seeing what stands in the way and finding a way forward.

Partnerships & Purpose

The most ambitious projects rarely happen within a single organisation or discipline.

Strong partnerships are built on trust, clarity and a shared sense of purpose. Extraordinary ones can open access, bring new expertise to a project, solve problems and create opportunities that would not otherwise exist.

Anthony has developed high-profile partnerships across science, conservation, government, production and commercial organisations, bringing together extraordinary people with different expertise, perspectives and priorities around shared ambitions.

His work has involved developing relationships with scientists and conservationists, working with governments and local authorities, securing specialist access and bringing together local experts, operators and commercial partners around complex projects. Often, the right combination of people and expertise is what makes an ambitious idea possible.

Building those relationships takes time and trust. Anthony works to understand what different partners bring to a project, where their interests align and how their expertise can contribute to the wider goal — creating the conditions for people and organisations to achieve extraordinary things.
